La Casa de los Nahuales
Synopsis:
🌙 La Casa de los Nahuales
La Casa de los Nahuales is a performance built from the collective work of the Spring 2025 Physical Theater Workshop by HAPAA. Over ten sessions, participants explored the body as their primary tool for theatrical expression, placing movement above spoken word.
On stage, they share short pieces born from this process—scenes that invite us to reflect on trust and what makes us human.
Physical theater is a powerful art form that communicates through gesture, rhythm, impulse, and body interaction rather than traditional dialogue.
What is a Nahual?
The word nahual comes from the Nahuatl word nahualli, meaning “hidden.” A nahual can be a being that transforms into an animal, a sorcerer, or our animal alter ego. In this context, the nahual represents the transformative potential that lies within every human being.
This performance is a celebration of that transformation—of the body, the spirit, and the power of collective expression.
Join us to discover the power of the body on stage and experience a unique theatrical journey!
